Blog 6- Reworking and revisions.
03-06-2025
Hello and welcome back! So, I took a few days to think over my troubling week and figure out where to go from there. I also went around and got tons of feedback from people about what to do and where to go from here.
So, I realized after everything that I had jumped the gun a little bit last week. I was trying to put the full cart before the horses were even born, so to say.
So, I reworked and read a lot of things.
The first thing I did was take all my rough thumbnail sketches from a few weeks ago and put them into an aftereffects file, along with some quick scratch dialogue I’d made. It’s extremely messy file wise, but it got the job done. One thing I realized from this though was that a lot of my boards were too rough and unpolished, which was only going to lead to more difficulties. So, I resolved to clean up all my boards. This took me two-three days to do, as I added some more shots in, and really took the time to make sure these boards would do a good job of telling the story.
I also built 2 Blender files, where I quickly created layouts based on the two different layouts seen in this animatic. I thought they would be extremely helpful in figuring out perspective and also assist in figuring out where the cameras should go in my 2D shots, which they also heavily assisted in.
Here are the two Blender files, and the finished images for my boards.
This took a good brunt of my week, but I finally feel like I’m back on track.
The only thing I need to do is begin transferring all of this to storyboard pro. I’d finally gotten the program, but since I had been primarily using other works the past week, I figured it would be much more efficient to finish all my previous revisions on Clip Studio paint, and transfer all the individual shots from there.
