Blog Three: Thumbnails ahoy!
Date 02/20/2025.
Welcome back to my blog!
I’m going to make this a quick entry since it’s my birthday today, and my 25th birthday at that… no half-developed brain for me! Only fully developed brains, but I have made some more progress today!
Following my last script, I went ahead and picked which story I wanted to work on first, which happens to be the Dungeon adventure! Now the story for this one was just slightly too long, so I decided it would be a promising idea to massively trim it. I made an alternate shorter ending story, which the script for this will be below if anyone wants to read!
Then I got to work on the top-down view. I only have the top downs complete for one room, because the other room changed so much, I kept having to redo the cameras on it. I figured I’d redo that one after I have the story 100% down.
Next, I got to work on the thumbnail sketches. I decided it would be a clever idea to do my thumbnail sketches on paper, on sticky notes, because it is easy to see in person hand how the shot looks, and in my own mind makes it easier to redo/fix anything. They’re very rough but I’ll put them down below as well!
Finally, I made a short anime of the sticky notes. I had meant to record lines of dialogue for my video recording, but I ran out of time to do so, so that will be next week’s issue as I begin to carefully turn these thumbnail sketches into storyboards.
Now, I better get back to the birthday celebration here! I hope everyone has a good week, and I’ll see you next time!
Next Week: Storyboarding!
